Looking Out

Assess the strengths and needs of your clients or the greater community.

Looking Out is a detailed Needs Assessment (see "Needs Assessment Model").  Community Empowerment Research facilitates a Needs Assessment Committee (NAC) created by your organization to examine the needs of your community.  The NAC will meet in three phases over a period of time that could extend 6 months or more.  At the end of each stage, the committee determines to end or continue.  Most of the work of the NAC is done by the members of the committee, with input and coordination from Community Empowerment Research.

Since the Looking Out needs assessment is a long process with flexible options, the pricing is not fixed.  The base price is $6,000, with a sliding discount for smaller organizations.  Appropriate demographic maps and reports are included.  There is an option (highly encouraged) for surveying the community.  If the NAC chooses to reach out to community members, they will decide what approach(es) to take and how much of the work they will take on.  Survey options include in-person interviews, mailed surveys, and on-line surveys.  These diverse choices affect costs, so that prices are determined at that time, but usually run less than $1,000.

Looking Out involves numerous meetings coordinated by staff from Community Empowerment Research, therefore, it is currently available only in New Mexico and parts of Arizona, Colorado, and Texas.
